[ People Chattering, Laughing ]
[ Man #1] Broke in right on the two of them.
[ Man #2] No matter what they say, it´s all about money.
So let´s imagine, ladies, that you´re a Savings and Loan officer. Watch.
One, two, three. See ?
You´ve got it all, and we´ve got nothin´.
- And you have all four. Take a look. - Oh !
But I wouldn´t trust you with real gold.
- That´s why this one´s only worth about a penny. - [ Man ] Hmm.
And if you wonder where the other one went, watch.
A penny from the ear. How much for the rest ? [ Laughs ]
- Have you seen Edward ? - No, I haven´t. Great party, Philip.
My wife went to a lot of trouble; she called a caterer.
- Excuse me, Ann. Howard, how are you ? - Philip, good.

Tess: A Rebellious Woman.docx
Tess of the Durbervilles is one of the representative works of Thomas Hardy. Traditionally, Tess’ tragedy and the reasons for it are usually the focus of most researchers when it comes to this fiction. In this thesis, nevertheless, the point is not Tess’ tragedy but her rebelliousness. This thesis aims to present what Tess is rebellious against and what the deep reasons are for her rebelliousness. Another point of this thesis is to analyze the enlightenment of Tess’ rebelliousness to the people in her time and the modern people (especially to the modern women) so as to help them suffer less tragedy in life. Also, it is one of my aims to bring a little progress and improvement to the study of the masterpiece Tess of the Durbervilles.

Tess, an Unfortunate and Tragic Woman.doc
